On Tuesday 19th May, 8 Platoon visited our local fire station at Havant. The aim of the visit was to learn about community safety and experience the work carried out by this arm of the emergency services.
The firefighters challenged the cadets to undertake an assault course that included saving a life, climbing & descending ladders and even gave them a blast of the hoses.
The platoon was split into 3 teams and competed against each other fun was had by all. After the fun, the cadets watched film clips and then discussed the consequences of a series of incidents that included car crashes, fires, joyriding and hit and run.
A valuable lesson in personal choices was learned by all. Our thanks go to the firefighters of Havant for making our visit most enjoyable and worthwhile.
