ONE STAR:

  • meets basic needs of Duke of Edinburgh Expedition training

Any suitable person can teach this.

Twenty periods for Youth Certificate (Young Lifesaver Plus)
  • This course must be registered with the County First Aid Officer

  • The cost of the badge is £1, which County will pay

This course must be taught by an Adult or Cadet who holds a current Adult Certificate.

Eight hours for Adult Lifesaver (one day)
  • There is no charge for this course

Must be taught by an Adult with current First Aid Qualification and practical experience over a three year period.

FOUR STAR:
Further eight hours plus an examination, following on from the Three Star Qualification
  • Pass provides LifeSaver Plus qualification

  • Cost for certificate £5.00 and £1.40 for the Adult Green Badge.

ADULT TRAINING:
(Adult courses may only be taught by an Approved Trainer, i.e the County First Aid Officer
  • LifeSaver Plus a weekend course, cost £7.50 this course is mandatory for all new adults, as well as for those adults involved in Adventurous Training, Live Firing and Obstacle Course training

  • First Aid at Work A four day course, spread over two weekends, the cost is £45.00 and the qualification obtained on this course is recognised by the Health and Safety at Work Executive.
