Army Cadet Corps Headquarters in Kentucky USA
How can I get on it?
As a cadet you have to be 15, minimum 2 star, have no ongoing injuries or illnesses. No restrictions on photographs being taken. No major medication taken, must have a valid passport, valid for at least 6 months and still a serving cadet or adult. Must be able to swim. Not afraid of heights. As an adult, (any rank or age) must have passed an AI’s course. Be first Aid Trained (heart start is the minimum) and meet all the requirements listed above.

How much does it cost?
All costs must be met from cadets and adult staff; currently this is calculated at £680 for the 8 days and covers flights etc. Of course fund raising and projects are part of the planning process.

Selection process
This will be a high profile trip, to date, no UK cadets have visited this Headquarters, so all cadets and staff will be the first UK ambassadors to visit, the Commandant demands a high standard and not just have the ability to pay. Not only representing Hants and IOW ACF but the UK Cadets forces as a whole, there will be a filter and selection process for adults and cadets with the successful applicants informed at an early stage.

Who do I contact?
Email your initial application here stating why you want to go, or get your training officer to email it in if you don’t have that facility, stating what you have to offer and if you hold a useful qualification, and of course assurance you can pay the initial fee. This is open to all cadets and adults , all companies.

What’s the next step?
This trip is in 2010, there is much planning, get your application in early, the CEO will carry out a  recce in 2009, once he returns and is happy with the arrangements, the process starts, its only leaves you about 8 months before the trip begins, don’t delay.

The cut off date for all applicants is 31 October 2009.
